Show garden at Westonbirt 2003

Constructed for the landscape architects, PRP, this show garden garnered widespread critical acclaim for its impressive “light show”. Framed acrylic panels, located around a central rectangular pool were laminated with film, so that they radiated iridescent light that varied with the position of the sun. An exciting feature was the fact that the panels were moveable – they could be turned in different orientations, varying not only the reflected light but also the route around the garden. The use of steel gabions, encasing both logs and stone, was another strong architectural feature of the garden.
